You owe me a Coke.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I said that phrase today when I was talking on the phone with <lj user=simmeringsiren>.  It was an automatic reaction ingrained from years of usage on the playgrounds of my home town (Jax, Fla).  It got me to wondering&#8230; is it something kids across America said?  If so, is it still in common use?  Did you, dear reader, use this or some similar phrase?<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Son of a biscuiteater!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s another one we used as an obvious replacement for &#8220;son of a bitch&#8221;.  &#8220;Bitch&#8221; was, of course, a &#8220;bad&#8221; word so we substituted biscuiteater.  It ends up being more funny than spiteful, but who wants to be spiteful during those tender years anyway.<\/p>\n<p>Are there any other odd phrases you used as a kid that you find yourself reverting to at the oddest times?  I used son of a biscuiteater just the other day and received some curious looks from my co-workers.
