I have a personal website that I rarely update. Heck, I use LJ more often than I update my personal site. Because of this… and because the name lilbrownboy.com<\/a> just isn’t who I am anymore, I’m ditching it. Well sorta… I do host a cool character sheet generator used by a lot of different people so I can’t just let the site die. Instead, I’m going to move the site to a new domain…<\/p>\n

Introducing… lalato.com (don’t bother going there as it’s a blank page right now). I know what you’re thinking… how creative<\/i>. Lalato is my childhood nickname. Heck, my family still calls me that. I wracked my brain trying to think up something that included “sam” in the name, but everything I came up with was already taken (by the way, my favorites were flotsam.com, jetsam.com and samizdat.com, but alas they were all taken).<\/p>\n

Over the course of the next several weeks I’ll be moving the important bits of my website over to the new domain. I hope that this’ll be the push I need to finally learn a bit more CSS, javascript, php and mysql. I know just enough to make me dangerous. Normally that would be a good thing, but when it comes to this sort of stuff, dangerous == bad.<\/p>\n

Part of the reason for the change too is that my website host, charges way, way way too much for what I get. I found a great little host that will fill my needs for about a quarter of the cost. I hope that doesn’t mean the service will be lacking, but my website is fairly low maintenance so it shouldn’t be that big a deal.<\/p>\n

This also means that the nautalist is moving too. I’ll copy all of your e-mail address from the old nautalist@lists.lilbrownboy.com to the new one at nautalist@lalato.com. If you are currently on the nautalist and don’t wish to remain on the nautalist, please let me know so I can take this opportunity to remove you. If you are not on the nautalist or know someone that should be on the nautalist, please let me know so I can take this opportunity to add you or the someone.<\/p>\n
