I’m not one to post about my personal life very much… especially about those near and dear to me. As you may recall, I posted about a year ago that my mom was in chemo therapy for cancer. She originally had breast cancer, but it wormed its way into the rest of her body.<\/p>\n
She had been a real trooper for a while there. The chemo had kept her in a sort of stasis. She wasn’t getting any better, but she wasn’t getting any worse either. A couple of months ago, she started having problems with the chemo. She couldn’t hold down food and felt more ill.<\/p>\n
Her doctors tried one last chemo cocktail to see if it would make a difference, but no, she still felt ill and couldn’t keep food down. For the last month she’s been without chemo and as can be expected has slowly deteriorated. She’s in hospice now, and I suspect that it won’t be much longer.<\/p>\n
The feeling of complete and utter helplessness is overwhelming, but don’t send your prayers and thoughts to me. Send them to her… and make sure they include words on a speedy passing. She deserves that.<\/p>\n
